Other services like Speedtest.net and the Telkom speed test tool are great but ISP’s usually prioritise your internet connection to these servers to give you a very bias representation of your actually line speed.
The diagnostic tool is also very lightweight and seems to be based on html5 architecture appose to a Flash based system. The benefit of having a html5 backbone is that most of today’s smart TV’s and smart devices do not support Flash.
